*2. Automated counter sizing*
The model simulates stochastic arrivals and variable service times, then runs an evolutionary optimizer to test counter setups against wait time, congestion, and efficiency for your LoS.

*3. Counter slider (manual override)*
Untick the optimize box and move the slider to increase or decrease counters. Average queue time and LoS update live. Use this for sensitivity and trade-off discussions after the recommended count appears.
*4. Islands*
• Islands *merge or split* as total counters change.
• You can *set counters per island* manually for allocation or phasing.
*5. Orientation*
Set *counter and island orientation* parallel to passenger flow (or alternate option if exposed). Layout updates immediately without redrawing in CAD.
*6. Hall area / boundary*
Extend or reduce the check-in hall footprint. The tool recalculates how many counters fit and updates queue and counter zones.
